Chapter1 Verse20

“अथ व्यवस्थितान्दृष्ट्वा धार्तराष्ट्रान् कपिध्वजः।

प्रवृत्ते शस्त्रसम्पाते धनुरुद्यम्य पाण्डवः॥”


इस छंद में, अर्जुन जो कपि-ध्वज के प्रतीक वाला ध्वज लेकर प्रसिद्ध हैं, देखते हैं कि धृतराष्ट्र के पुत्र युद्ध के लिए अपनी स्थिति बना रहे हैं। उन्हें यह दिखाई देता है कि युद्ध शुरू होने वाला है, और शस्त्र सजाए हुए हैं। इस पर अर्जुन अपने शक्तिशाली धनुष को उठाते हैं, जिससे उनकी युद्ध में शामिल होने की तैयारी दिखाई देती है। यह छंद पांडवों और कौरवों के बीच समर्पित संघर्ष के लिए मंच प्रस्थापित करता है। यह अर्जुन की दृढ़ता और उनकी तैयारी को दिखाता है कि वे धर्म की रक्षा में एक योद्धा के रूप में अपनी भूमिका निभाने के लिए तैयार हैं। उनके ध्वज पर कपि का प्रतीक शक्ति, चुस्ती और क्रियाशीलता का प्रतीक है।



“At that time, seeing the sons of Dhritarashtra arrayed and the commencement of hostilities, Arjuna, the monkey-bannered one, took up his bow.”

In this verse, Arjuna, who is known for having a flag with a symbol of a monkey (kapi-dhvaja), observes that the sons of Dhritarashtra have positioned themselves for battle. He sees that the fight is about to begin, with weapons ready to be used. In response, Arjuna picks up his powerful bow, indicating his readiness to join the battle. This verse sets the stage for the imminent conflict between the Pandavas and the Kauravas. It shows Arjuna's determination and preparedness to fulfill his role as a warrior in defending righteousness. The symbol of the monkey on his flag symbolizes strength, agility, and readiness for action.
